Event Details
Greater Ashmont Main Street and Mandorla Music Series are very pleased to co-present the 2018-2019 bimonthly Dot Jazz Series at Peabody Hall in the The Parish of All Saints • Ashmont • Dorchester • Boston. Doors open at 7pm and the $15 ticket includes dessert, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Wine will be available as well.
On September 13th, we welcome back trumpet player Jason Palmer! Jason is one of the most in demand musicians of his generation whose reputation only continues to grow. It’s been a big year for Jason: his latest albums, Live at Wally’s Vol. 1 & 2, were released, he was recently the subject of a great profile in DownBeat Magazine, and in June 2018 he recorded a forthcoming album live at NYC’s The Jazz Gallery with Matt Brewer, Mark Turner and Kendrick Scott.
Jason will be joined by Noah Preminger, winner of Downbeat Magazine’s 2017 ‘Rising Star of the Tenor Saxophone’ poll, of whom New York Times critic wrote, “Mr. Preminger designs a different kind of sound for each note, an individual destiny and story.” Rounding out the band will be first-call Boston rhythm section players Max Ridley on bass and Lee Fish on the drums.
